  • About Us | BICF- Bangalore International Christian Fellowship

BICF is an international Church in Bangalore serving the international body of Christ led by the word of God. About us What We Are About A Christ-exalting fellowship of believers serving people of all nations in Bangalore, towards a transformed life through the instruction of the Bible and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. What We Believe BICF is an interdenominational fellowship from diverse backgrounds, but are united in our core beliefs. The Bible We believe the written Word of God is in both the Old and New Testaments. They are inspired by God, in whole and in part. They are error-free in the original writings and are the supreme authority of faith and practice for the believer in Jesus Christ. We further believe that there is but one true interpretation of any biblical passage with different practical applications.(Psalm 119:160; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Hebrews 1:1-2, 4:12) God We believe there is but one living and true God who is infinite, eternal and unchangeable. We further believe that God is one in essence while existing in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Though each person of the Godhead possesses precisely the same nature and attributes, each functions differently in respect to God’s purposes and dealings with man. (Deuteronomy 4:39, 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14) The Father The first person of the Trinity orders and directs all things according to his own purpose, pleasure and grace. The Father is sovereign in creation, providence and redemption. He has decreed all things that come to pass for his own glory. He graciously involves himself in the affairs of men, hears and answers prayer, and saves from sin and death all who come to him through Jesus Christ. (1 Chronicles 29:11; Psalm 103:19; Matthew 6:9; John 5:19-24; Ephesians 1:3-6) The Son The second person of the Trinity is both the eternal Son of God and virgin-born Son of man. Therefore Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. Jesus gave up His heavenly glory, temporarily when he incarnated but never relinquish His Deity. (Phil. 2) Having led a sinless life, He satisfied the Father’s justice concerning sin by His substitutionary death. We believe in His bodily resurrection, His physical ascension and His visible return to earth to establish His earthly kingdom. (John 1:14-18; Acts 1:11; Romans 3:24-26; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8; Colossians 2:9; Hebrews 2:16-18; Revelation 20:11-15) The Holy Spirit The third person of the Trinity executes the will of God in the world of men. It is the He who applies the salvation that Jesus Christ secured through His death on the cross. It is the Holy Spirit who convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. It is the Holy Spirit who empowers the church to live a lifestyle pleasing to God, endowing it with special gifts that equip believers to accomplish distinct ministries, planned beforehand by God the Father. (John 3:1-8 & 15-16, 15:4-15; 1 Corinthians 12; Galatians 5:16-25; Ephesians 1:13-14, 5:18-21) Mankind We believe that humankind was directly created in the image of God to enjoy His fellowship and to fulfill God’s will on earth. Through the first humans, Adam and Eve, humanity sinned by a voluntary act of personal disobedience to the will of God; as a result, all people are spiritually dead and subject to the certainty of physical death. The fall of humanity was a non-repeatable historical fact, the effects of which are transmitted to all persons, each of whom is born with a sinful nature and sins habitually in thought, word and deed. (Genesis 1:26-27, 2:7, 3:3-4; Romans 1:18-32, 3:10-23; Ephesians 2:1-3) Fall of Man We believe that God created man in His own image, male and female, with reasoning ability. Adam and Eve were endowed with intellect, emotion, and free will to either obey or disobey God’s command. Tragically, our first parents yielded to Satan’s temptation and sinned by eating the forbidden fruit and became Spiritually dead immediately and physically later. Since Adam is the father of all mankind, the guilt for his sin has been imputed to all human beings, and we have inherited the same death in sin and the same corrupt nature. Every sin, both inherited and acted out by an individual transgresses the righteous Law of God and brings guilt upon the sinner. Every sinner is consequently subject to the wrath of God, the curse of the Law, and death, with all the resultant miseries, spiritual, temporal, and eternal. (Genesis.1-3; Psalms8:6-8; Psalms 51:5; Ecclesiastes.12: 7; Jeremiah17: 9; Romans1:18-32; 5:12-21; 6:23) Salvation We believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins as the only sufficient, substitutionary sacrifice. All who believe in Him are declared justified by the Father on the grounds of Jesus’ death and resurrection. All who receive the Lord Jesus Christ by grace through faith have been regenerated by and baptized in the Holy Spirit and granted eternal life. They become, thereby, the children of God forever and members of the one true church, the universal Body of Christ. This salvation will result in righteous living and good works as the believer submits his or her life to the control of the Holy Spirit who directs the life of the believer in harmony with the Word of God. (John 1:12, 3:16, 5:24, 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 3:21-26, 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Galatians 3:26; Ephesians 1:7, 2:8-10; Titus 3:4-7; Hebrews 10:10-12; 1 John 5:11-13) The Church We believe that all who have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit belong to the one true universal church and are directed by the Scriptures to associate themselves in local, visible churches. The local church is the only scriptural representation of Christ’s invisible church and is led by regenerated believers. The local church is autonomous in its government and recognizes its own members for biblical offices and leadership positions. Two ordinances have been committed to the local church — baptism and the Lord’s Supper. The purpose of the church is to lead men to Christ, mature them in the faith, and equip them for personal ministry. (Matthew 16:13-28, 28:18-20; Acts 2:41-47, 4:1-16; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29; Ephesians 2:19-22, 4:11-13; Hebrews 10:23-25; 1 Peter 5:1-3) Last Things We believe that God in His own time and in His own way will bring an appropriate end to the earth. This will include Jesus Christ’s bodily and visible return to earth. In which Christ followers, will receive eternal life and live with Him in heaven forever, while the unrighteous who reject Christ will be condemned to an eternity of judgment. (Matthew 24-25; John 14:1-3; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Corinthians 15:20-28; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; Revelation 20:1-4)

  • Our Ministries | BICF- Bangalore International Christian Fellowship

BICF is an international Church in Bangalore serving the international body of Christ led by the word of God. BICF MINISTRIES KID'S MINISTRY (Sunday School) WHEN: After Worship Service We believe that Children are an integral part of the fellowship and will be future leaders. So, we endeavor to share God’s word starting at a young age, with the intent that they learn to love God and follow Him. With that in mind, we have a great Sunday School team of dedicated teachers who teach on a volunteer basis. We follow an international curriculum, and at present are teaching from “The Gospel Project”. Our Sunday School kids’ ages range from preschool to twelve years old. Visit Us Teens inc. WHEN: 2nd & 4th Sundays 8:30am - 9:30am Though we believe that parents are the primary spiritual influence in our kid’s life, we also believe that a strong teen’s ministry plays a vital role in their overall spiritual development. At BICF, we have a great teen’s group led by a team of dedicated leaders. Our teen’s ages range from 13 to 17 years old and they also follow an advanced version of “The Gospel Project” curriculum. Moreover, as teens go through an often confusing adolescent period, there are powerful reasons why we should encourage our teenager(s) to go to a teen group, namely: Teens need good role models and mentors Teens need a Christian community of like-minded kids Teens need sound teaching in biblical theology Teens need a safe place to confess and confide Visit Us Next Meeting No events at the moment Young adults WHEN: 2nd & 3rd sundays 12pm - 1pm At BICF, we have a vibrant and dynamic group of young adults. We have young men and women represented from various parts of the world, all coming together to grow in Christ and connect with each other. We cater to many of the students who are away from home and need a place to connect and call ‘home away from home”. The young adults meet regularly after the morning service for fellowship, integrated with relevant topics for discussion over food and fun activities. It is the vision of BICF to prepare these young men and women as they go back to their communities that they would be effective leaders for Christ. Visit Us next meeting No events at the moment Young Adults Blog The Quest As young adults, we are all on a quest! What kind of quest are you on? Young Adults home groups WHEN: weekly once There is something powerfully unique about an intimate gathering around a living room, or a dining room table that forces us to think differently than when we are in a big room for worship. We believe that home groups provide a way for Christians to live out their faith instead of merely hearing more preaching or teaching. If Sunday morning is for listening, then the rest of the week is for living. Whether it’s discussing the Sunday sermon, talking about a spiritual battle, or simply praying for one another, home groups create a context for Christians to live out their faith in real life. We believe that the relationships formed within home groups form a strong fabric within a church that will endure and strengthen over time. Finally, home groups provide a source of encouragement and accountability. People need accountability in their lives, encouragement in their walk with God, or help in some way and home groups provide a way to better meet these needs. Contact us to join a home group near your home. Visit Us women's fellowship WHEN: 2nd saturdays BICF believes in a women’s ministry as an important way of building the church body. There are aspects of the feminine life that can only be understood by other women. Women profit from being with other females as they learn from each other and encourage each other. Visit Us Next meeting No events at the moment Men's breakfast fellowship WHEN: 3rd saturdays Men’s breakfast CLUB was started with the intent of providing a platform for Expats from varied business backgrounds to come together once a month on a Saturday over a lovely continental breakfast spread and to have a great fellowship. This also provided avenues to discuss biblical leadership principles, business experiences with one another to edify and build up one another. Finally, the breakfast also provides another way for an outreach. Visit Us next meeting No events at the moment women's role in ministry From the very beginning of the church, women ministering to women was in the plan of God. Paul asks Titus to be actively involved in teaching, encouraging and instructing the godly older women so that they would be equipped for the task of leading the younger women. We have a yearly retreat for the women where they get to listen to great speakers and fellowship with one another. We also meet regularly for Bible studies and prayer, as well as quarterly get-togethers for all of the women to fellowship over food, singing and have a short devotion or special guest speaker. Visit Us worship ministry We believe that BICF is a slice of heaven, in that we have people represented from diverse people groups from varied backgrounds and ethnicity coming together to worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To meet the needs and taste of all people we have a dynamic blended worship style consisting of both biblically sound contemporary songs as well as timeless hymns. We presently have four worship teams, each group taking turns leading each week and with it bringing varied and exciting styles of worship all to the praise and glory of God. Visit Us
